The Story So Far...
Christian Medical College (CMC), Vellore has provided free medications for these children through Reynold’s Memorial Hospital for the past few years as a part of UMMID project along with Department of Biotechnology. As project UMMID nears its conclusion in Washim, the need for an alternate source of these medications becomes critical.

CMC Vellore, moreover, goes beyond just supplying medication; they offer heavily subsidized, and sometimes free, bone marrow transplants through Coal India LTD’s generosity under Thalassemia Bal Sewa Yojana (TBSY). Yet, the journey to Vellore for treatment is a difficult one for many families. Most rely on daily wages and have little to no savings, making it challenging to afford travel and accommodation during the lengthy hospital stay.
